ApexLap times laps with GPS. That means it handles where you drive. This page says what we keep, why, who can see it, and how you remove it. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and sites.
Who we are
ApexLap is run by Vasileios Katsaris, Kos 40, Porto Rafti, Greece, who decides how your data is used (the "controller" in data protection law). Write to info@aifoundry.gr for anything on this page.
Using ApexLap without an account
You can time laps without signing in. Then your sessions, vehicles and tracks stay on your iPhone and Apple Watch and are not sent to us.
What we keep when you sign in
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address and account identifier, from Sign in with Apple or Google | To sign you in and keep your data on your devices. Your email is never shown to other drivers. |
| Name or nickname, and whether you are under 18 | To show you to other drivers if you choose to appear, and to hide drivers under 18 by default. |
| Precise location: the GPS positions of your sessions, with times and speeds | To show your laps, sectors, speed and corners, and to coach you. |
| Sessions, laps, vehicles and tracks you create | To keep them on all your devices and show your records. |
| Photos of your vehicles that you add | To show them in your garage. |
ApexLap asks for your location only while the app is in use. A session keeps timing with the phone locked, which is why the app can keep running in the background during a session. It never asks for location "Always".
Why we may use your data
- To run your account and the features you use: keeping your data on your devices, timing, records. This is needed to provide the app to you.
- Your location: with your consent, which you give through the iPhone's location permission. You can withdraw it at any time in iPhone Settings.
- Showing you to other drivers: only with your choice in your Profile, which you can change at any time.
- Keeping the service secure and preventing abuse: our legitimate interest in a safe service.
Who can see it
- Only you see your sessions, GPS positions and photos.
- Other drivers can see your name, vehicle and lap times if you choose to appear. Never your email.
- Drivers under 18 are hidden from other drivers. They appear, by nickname only, if they choose to.
- Apple and Google handle your sign-in, and Apple provides the maps. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
- Our server stores your data. It is run by us on a server in Germany. We do not give your data to anyone else, except when the law requires it.
Children
ApexLap is for drivers of all ages, including young karters. We ask whether you are under 18. If you are, you are hidden from other drivers by default, you are shown only by a nickname and only if you choose, and you should not use your real name.
A child below the age of digital consent may have an account only with a parent's or guardian's permission. That age is 15 in Greece and between 13 and 16 elsewhere in the EU. A parent or guardian can write to us at any time to see or delete a child's data.
Where your data goes
Our server is in Germany, inside the European Union. Apple and Google process your sign-in under their own policies, and may do so outside the EU.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no data sold.
- No tracking across other apps and sites.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting services inside the app.
- No decisions about you made only by a computer in a way that affects your rights.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: Career → Account → Delete account. This removes your account, sessions, vehicles and tracks from our server and from that iPhone. Sessions recorded on an Apple Watch stay on the watch until you delete them there. If you signed in with Apple, the app also asks Apple to remove ApexLap from your Apple ID's list of apps that use Sign in with Apple.
- Get a copy: Career → Account → Export my data.
- Hide yourself from other drivers: in your Profile, opened from Career.
- Stop sharing location: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → ApexLap.
- You can ask us to correct or restrict your data, or object to how we use it, at info@aifoundry.gr. We answer within one month.
- If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or to the authority of the country where you live.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. We then remove your data from our server. Copies kept for backup are removed within one month.
Security
Data travels over an encrypted connection. Each driver can read only their own sessions, vehicles and tracks on the server. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't promise it is.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no trackers. Cloudflare, which delivers it, may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver it securely.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, the app tells you before it takes effect.
